Amy Fu

Prof. Amy Fu joined The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) in 1998 and is currently the Research Professor of Life Science and the Director of HKUST-Shanghai Sixth People’s Hospital Joint Research Center for Brain Science. She also serves as Associate Director of the State Key Laboratory of Molecular Neuroscience, the Daniel and Mayce Yu Molecular Neuroscience Center, the Center for Stem Cell Research, the HKUST-SIAT Joint Lab for Brain Science, and the Brain and Intelligence Research Institute.

Prof. Fu’s research work aims to delineate the molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying Alzheimer’s disease. She focuses on the discovery of therapeutic targets of Alzheimer’s disease in the innate immune and blood systems by elucidating their causal roles using genetic association analysis and in vitro and in vivo studies. She has published over 90 articles in peer-reviewed journals. Prof. Fu’s research findings have provided a strong basis for the development of new therapeutic strategies.
