Hong Kong Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases (HKCeND) is an interdisciplinary research institute that aims to carry out cutting-edge high-impact molecular neuroscience, genetic and clinical research in characterizing the mechanistic underpinnings of Alzheimer’s disease and dementia in the Chinese population.
We are looking for a highly motivated Research Assistant to join our Mass Spec Service Team. The candidate will be supporting the research team by running proteomics profiling assay on research/clinical samples and assist in developing target specific methods using Mass Spec technology.
Duties
- Perform proteomics profiling in research samples in cell lysates and biological fluids
- Assist in protocol development with various extraction techniques including LLE/SPE/Immunoprecipitation
- Assist in mass-spec based method development
- Maintain complete and accurate records of the experimental data and analyses performed
- Perform general project administrative tasks, such as maintaining general upkeep, equipment, and stocks of supplies for research use
- Support the preparation of technical reports and quantitative analyses

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry / Biochemistry or related field
- Maintain a high level of attentiveness and precision while performing job duties
- Outstanding power of observation to identify deviations or anomalies during experiments
- Great adaptability to changes and challenges
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
- 2 Years of full-time working experience preferred, and less experience may be appointed as Research Assistant (fresh graduate will also be considered)
Salary and Benefits
A highly competitive salary will be commensurate with qualification and experience in addition to medical and dental benefits as well as annual leave. The appointment will be offered a renewable one-year contract, subject to mutual agreement and performance.
