Duties
The appointee will participate in a molecular neuroscience-related and/or genetic-based research program(s).
Requirements
Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree in biological sciences or a related field. Knowledge of molecular biology, cell biology and biochemistry is necessary. Relevant working experience in clinical or hospital settings, biological processing, patient recruitment, or translational science is an asset. Self-motivation with the ability to work independently is essential.
Salary and Benefits
A highly competitive salary will be commensurate with qualification and experience in addition to medical and dental benefits as well as annual leave. The appointment will be offered a one-year contract, renewable subject to mutual agreement and performance.

Post-doctoral Fellows / Research Associates (ND0002)
Duties
Successful candidates will study the roles and the effect of genetic risk factors in neurodegenerative diseases through a systems approach, involving epigenetic, transcriptomic, and proteomics analysis. They will also be required to process and analyze human tissues, including frozen brain tissues and paraffin blocks. The positions provide exchange opportunities and the successful candidates will work closely with renowned laboratories at international institutions.
Requirements
Applicants should have a PhD degree in life science; background in neuroscience, neuroanatomy or a related field; and research experience in human tissues, histology and immunohistology. Knowledge of neuro-pathology, genomic DNA, RNA, and biochemistry techniques is preferred. The appointee should possess outstanding communication skills and strong passion and commitment to science, and enjoy working in a multidisciplinary and diverse team.

Research Assistant (iPSC) (ND0004)
A Research Assistant position is available within the Hong Kong Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases at the Hong Kong Science Park. The appointee will join a team dedicated to the utilization of human induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSC)-derived systems to model neurodegenerative diseases, ensuring that all procedures adhere to internationally accepted standards.
Duties
Quality control of iPSC and iPSC-derived cells
Maintain a quality-assured cell bank
Organize and cryopreserve processed samples in liquid nitrogen tanks
Facility maintenance including general upkeep, i.e. ordering supplies, maintaining inventory, and excellent record keeping
Running both differentiation and phenotyping assays, including but not limited to: immunocytochemistry, imaging, western blot, RT-qPCR
Involved in project specific tasks
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Biology/Molecular Biology/Biochemistry/Neurobiology or related field
Experience with cell culture preferred; experience with iPSC is ideal
Past research experience in cell biology, molecular biology, genetics, or neuroscience at undergraduate level or beyond is preferred
Self-motivated, detail-oriented, team-oriented
Strong organizational, communication, and record-keeping skills
Work over the weekend on rotation when needed
