We are seeking for a highly energetic and motivated Research Assistant(s) to join our bioinformatic team. The candidate(s) will play a role in our collective efforts to identify novel biomarkers associated with the dysregulation of neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s Disease, and contribute to disease pathogenesis.
Duties
- Collect, manage, and analyze biological data (e.g., phenotypic, proteomic, transcriptomic, and/or genetic data), including the use of statistical methods and graphic tools to analyze and interpret data for meaningful results.
- Implement and/or optimize existing analytic pipelines.
- Generate figures and graphs to illustrate the data and deliver insights responsibly and in a timely manner.
- Provide support in the preparation of manuscripts and presentations.
- Any other duties assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or above in biology / biomedical sciences or a related field.
- Knowledge of programming skills, especially with R.
- Knowledge of common bioinformatic databases such as GTEx is preferred.
- Strong analytical, communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively in English.
- Data management experience with relational database architecture is a plus but not necessary.
- Experience in proteomics, transcriptomics and molecular biology-related laboratory techniques is a plus.
- A creative mind that is curious and willing to learn new techniques and software as necessary.
Salary and Benefits
A competitive salary will be commensurate with qualification and experience in addition to medical and dental benefits as well as annual leave. The appointment will be offered on a contract basis, renewable subject to mutual agreement and performance.
