Dr. Fanny Ip obtained her PhD in Biology from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in 1998, under the tutelage of Professor Nancy Ip. Her early research focus was on exploring the role of neurotrophic factors in the formation of neuromuscular junctions and following nerve injury. In recent years, she has focused on drug research and development, developing small molecules and medicinal herbal extracts that promote neuronal survival and synaptic plasticity as novel treatments for neurodegenerative diseases and neurological diseases. In addition, she collaborates with hospital physicians to establish clinical cohorts and conduct blood biomarker research for Alzheimer’s disease to facilitate early detection. Dr. Ip has published more than 70 research papers in international peer-reviewed journals, holds 35 invention patents, and has successfully transformed research results into applied products.
